Our Process
Our Process

Move the story, clarify the message, and make the work impossible to ignore.

MattiBurns creates animation, motion graphics, explainers, campaign films, kinetic type, and animated brand assets that help ideas become clearer, sharper, and more memorable.

01
Message Discovery

We define the message, audience, format, timeline, delivery specs, and what the motion needs to make people understand or feel.

Script & Storyboards

We shape the idea through scripts, boards, styleframes, pacing, transitions, and a visual direction that supports the story.

02
03
Styleframes

We design the frames, typography, characters, layouts, and motion language before the animation starts moving.

Animation

We animate with rhythm, clarity, and timing, building motion that feels intentional instead of decorative.

04
05
Exports & Cutdowns

Final videos and cutdowns are exported to spec for websites, campaigns, social platforms, events, and paid media.

Our Services
Our Services

We Offer a wide range of Creative Services Built Around Story.

01. Defining Your Story

We Write Your Stories

Our process begins by understanding your vision at its core. Through stakeholder interviews, story workshops, and style sessions, we align narrative, brand identity, goals, and audience. This foundation guides decisions and sets benchmark for success

Character Development
Character development shapes personality, style, and purpose before animation begins. We define traits, motivations, visual language, and motion needs so characters feel consistent, expressive, and built to support story, brand, and audience connect.
Scriptwriting +  Architecture
We craft engaging narratives across film, TV, ads, and digital media. Through strong story structure, dynamic characters, and purposeful dialogue, we shape scripts that bring ideas to life and align closely with each client’s unique vision.
Storyboards + Style-Frames
Storyboards and style frames turn scripts into a visual plan. We map scenes, pacing, camera flow, and design direction, defining the look and feel before animation begins. This ensures alignment, efficiency, and a cohesive final result.
Pitch Decks + Press Kits
We create compelling press kits with high quality visuals, synopses, cast details, and reviews. Each project includes a focused pitch deck highlighting unique value, audience fit, and market potential, plus a tailored email customized for each network
02. World building

We Design Your Vision

With the story as our blueprint, we build your visual universe. From character design and rigging to environments, motion, and sound, every element is crafted to immerse audiences and turn abstract ideas into tangible, relatable experiences.

Branding + Indentity
Logos, identity systems, and animated intros designed to set the tone, grab attention, and make your brand unforgettable across screens, platforms, and moments. Built to feel intentional, memorable, and aligned with your story and audience.
Visual Development
Through concept art, style frames, color exploration, and design systems, we shape characters, environments, and visual rules that guide the project. The focus is clarity and consistency, ensuring every frame feels intentional, connected, and purposeful
Character Design
From early sketches to refined designs, each character is built to fit its world and message. Expression, silhouette, color, and movement are carefully considered so characters transition seamlessly from illustration into fluid, natural animation.
Art Direction
Art direction defines the design system behind the work. From color, typography, and layout rules to motion language and visual hierarchy, systems keep teams aligned, designs consistent, and every frame intentional from concept through final animation.
03. Your Brand In Motion

We Animate Your Brand

The culmination of our process is bringing your vision to life. Characters are rigged with purpose, scenes framed with precision, and sound synced to pace, creating an animatic that previews the magic ahead and builds connection and flow in the final animation.

Character Rigging
Rigs are built for flexibility, control, and performance, enabling smooth motion, consistent proportions, and expressive animation. From simple to complex, each rig is tailored to the character’s needs and the visual style of the project.
Sound Design
Sound gives animation rhythm, emotion, and impact. From voice-over direction to recording and final mix, every element supports the story with clarity and intent. Polished mixes ensure balance, cohesion, and a finished feel across all platforms.
2D / 3D Animation
Animation is where your ideas turn into movement and stories begin to breathe. It transforms sketches into characters and concepts into worlds, creating moments people feel. Through planning, design, and heartfelt storytelling, animation builds loyalty.
Video Editing
Video editing turns raw footage into a focused narrative. Through pacing, timing, and thoughtful transitions, clips are shaped into a clear, engaging story that holds attention, strengthens flow, supports your overall brand message.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the burning questions in your mind.

Have a different question?
Do you only do animation?

No. Animation is a core specialty, but many projects also include illustration, character design, branding, UI/UX design, and Webflow development. That flexibility helps projects stay cohesive instead of being split across multiple vendors.

What types of clients do you work with?

I work with creative agencies, authors, artists, ministries, non-profits, educators, medical teams, tech companies, sports organizations, and entertainment brands.

Some clients come with a clear brief. Others come with a rough idea and need help shaping it. Both are welcome.

What kinds of animation do you specialize in?

I specialize in character-based animation and story-driven motion design, including:

• Explainer videos (medical, educational, product)
• Children’s stories and curriculum
• Brand and campaign animation
• Sports broadcast graphics and arena content
• Social and digital motion assets

If your animation needs clarity, personality, or warmth—it’s probably a good fit.

What’s your typical project timeline?

Timelines vary based on scope, but most projects fall into one of these ranges:

• Short motion pieces: 2–4 weeks
• Explainer or character animation: 4–8 weeks
• Brand + Webflow projects: 6–10 weeks

Timelines are always discussed upfront and aligned with your goals.

Do you work with children’s content and educational material?

Absolutely. I’ve worked on animated curriculum, educational content, and children’s storytelling designed to be engaging, age-appropriate, and visually memorable.

I care deeply about clarity, tone, and respect for young audiences.

Do you work with agencies or offer white-label support?

Yes. I regularly work with agencies and offer white-label support.

I partner with creative agencies and marketing teams to handle project overflow, specialized animation, motion design, branding, and UI/UX Design. I integrate seamlessly into existing workflows, follow brand guidelines, and can remain completely behind the scenes when needed.
